One-way RC Slab Design (CSA A23.3-19)
Checks a one-way reinforced concrete slab spanning between beams or walls, per metre width, against CSA A23.3-19. It covers the span-to-depth ratio, minimum and maximum steel and bar spacing, moment and one-way shear capacity, and the crack control parameter. It is a proof of concept.

Inputs and outputs
| Inputs | Slab span type (only simply supported is implemented) |
|---|---|
| Exposure: interior or exterior | |
| Concrete strength f'c, 5 to 60 MPa, and steel yield strength fy, 300 to 500 MPa | |
| Slab thickness, clear cover and clear shorter span (mm) | |
| Factored positive moment (kN·m/m) and factored shear (kN/m) | |
| Longitudinal and transverse bar size and spacing | |
| Outputs | Pass or fail with utilization for span to depth, minimum steel, moment, shear and crack control |
| Moment resistance and concrete shear resistance per metre | |

Limitations and assumptions
- Simply supported spans only. The continuous span options are not implemented yet.
- The effect of compression steel is ignored.
- Reinforcement is ignored in the shear check.
- No deflection check and no punching shear check.
