Work
This is where the things I build outside the day job live. Same engineer, different problems: cryptic software output, the lookups every structural job repeats, infrastructure nobody set up for me. Each case study opens with the problem and walks through what I built to solve it.
ETABuddy
An ETABS run can throw hundreds of warnings, and chasing down a single one can eat 20 minutes. ETABuddy is a command-line toolkit that groups the warnings, searches them with local embeddings, and drafts a diagnosis in seconds.
Read the case study →Calculator Suite
Every structural engineer reruns the same load takeoffs, wind pressures, and section checks. loadings.struct.work is a growing set of free calculators that handle those lookups in the browser, no spreadsheet required.
Read the case study →Self-Hosted Stack
Gitea for code, Ollama for local models, and the deploy pipeline behind this site, all on hardware I own. Self-hosting is how I learned DevOps end to end and kept my data mine.
Read the case study →Three so far. More case studies go up here as I write them.
